ICMHS  /  Our Mission
Who We Are

Care rooted in dignity. Advocacy rooted in lived experience.

Integrated Community Mental Health Services exists to make quality behavioral health care accessible, affordable, and free of shame for every individual and family who needs it.

Mission

"To expand access to compassionate, person-centered mental health care."

We provide accessible, evidence-based behavioral health services while working to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness through education, advocacy, and community engagement. No one should have to choose between their well-being and their dignity.

Vision

"Healthier communities where mental health care is embraced, not hidden."

We look forward to a future where mental health care is treated as an essential part of overall wellness. A future where individuals, families, and entire communities have the opportunity to thrive, free from stigma and barriers to care.

Our Values

What guides every decision we make.

Compassion

We meet every person with warmth, patience, and genuine care, not judgment.

Dignity

Every individual deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of diagnosis or circumstance.

Equity

We work to remove the financial, cultural, and logistical barriers that keep care out of reach.

Cultural Humility

Care that honors each person's background, beliefs, and lived experience.

Hope

Recovery is possible. We hold that hope for our clients, especially in their hardest moments.

Integrity

Transparent, accountable, evidence-based care, every time, for everyone.

Our Story
Where It Began

Born from a firsthand understanding of stigma.

Our founder, Dr. Margit Muenyi, grew up in a country where mental illness was often misunderstood and heavily stigmatized. Watching stigma keep individuals and families from seeking help left a lasting impression on her, and it sparked a lifelong commitment to compassionate, culturally sensitive, equitable mental health care.

That conviction became Integrated Community Mental Health Services, an organization built to serve adolescents, adults, and older adults facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, ADHD, substance use, and severe mental illness, with holistic, evidence-based care that treats the whole person, not just a set of symptoms.

Paul Muenyi, our Board Chair, brought a parallel commitment to underserved communities from his own decade of service with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Louisiana Organization for Refugees and Immigrants. Together, they built ICMHS into a place where governance, compassion, and clinical excellence meet.

Our Approach

Whole-person care, built on four commitments.

a.

Holistic, Evidence-Based Treatment

Medication management, psychotherapy, patient education, and collaboration with families and community partners, integrated into one coordinated plan of care.

b.

Innovative Access

Tele-mental health services, community partnerships, and prevention initiatives designed to reach people wherever distance, cost, or circumstance would otherwise stand in the way.

c.

Financial & Mental Wellness, Together

We recognize that financial stress and mental health are deeply connected. Through partnership and education, we help individuals build stability in both.

d.

Education That Ends Stigma

Community outreach and advocacy that shift how mental health is viewed, replacing silence and shame with empathy, hope, and healing.
